Ideas Digital Forum 2018
12 October 2018 9:30am-4pm
The Robert Mclaughlin Gallery Ideas Digital Forum
Two days of engaging conversations between artists, curators, digital specialists, and scholars dedicated to thinking critically and collectively about the future of digital technology, digital art and public art galleries.
Guided by thought-leaders from Berlin, England, and across Canada, participants and presenters will come together to discuss the opportunities and obstacles that digital technologies brings with it, and what pathway it puts forth for the future of the Public Art Galleries.
As much as the interaction between the Public Art Gallery as the site of engagement with these digital technologies, the symposium will collaboratively find answers for some of the medium’s more precarious questions: how it will it affect artists’ practices; how will it be curated; collected; written about; archived; and engaged.
