The Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum & Community Centre has an exciting new exhibit: Archaeology Alive: The Jean Baptiste Lainé Site and Whitchurch-Stouffville.  This exhibit will explore the amazing archaeological site that was uncovered in Whitchurch-Stouffville between 2003 and 2005.  You will engage with artifacts on loan from the Canadian Museum of History and the Huron-Wendat Museum, a 3-D gaming experience, and oral histories from Huron-Wendat nation members.  Follow www.townofws.ca/waybackinws for updates. 

Register your children for a P.A. Day Workshop at the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum & Community Centre.  Get Cooking! will run on Monday, October 21st from 9am to 4pm.  Your children will learn to prepare a variety of seasonal recipes in both a modern and a historic kitchen!  Pre-registration is required and the workshop is recommended for children ages 5-12.  Go to www.townofws.ca/museum for more info!

Come to the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum & Community Centre on Saturday, October 26th  from 1-2pm to Meet Chef Johl Whiteduck Ringuette!  Owner of NishDish Marketeria and Catering, Indigenous Chef Ringuette will discuss the role that food plays in traditional Indigenous communities.  With complimentary food tastings, learn about food sovereignty, sustainability, plants and medicines.  Pre-registration required.  Go to www.townofws.ca/museum for more info!

Trick or Treat!  On Sunday, October 27th from 10am to 1pm, join us for Ghoul-icious at the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum & Community Centre.  You’ll visit the Museum’s historic buildings in search of treats, decorate a sugar cookie, and create a spooky craft!  Wear your costumes for a family photo taken by a professional photographer – included in ticket price!  Pre-registration is required.  Recommended ages: 3-10.  Go to www.townofws.ca/museum for more info!

Join us at the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum & Community Centre on Saturday, November 9th for An Evening With Dr. Ron Williamson!  Over an Anishnawbe-themed dinner, archaeologist Dr. Ron Williamson will discuss the discovery of this provincially significant site.  Also enjoy Archaeology Alive!, the current Museum exhibition showcasing artifacts on loan form the Canadian Museum of History and the Huron-Wendat Museum.  Pre-registration is required. Register your children for a gift making P.A. Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum & Community Centre Events

Join us at the Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum & Community Centre on Thursday, July 18 for our Teddy Bear Tea!  The tea will run from 10am to 11:30am.  Your children and their favourite teddy bears will enjoy a morning of bear-themed activities, including a story, craft, and a snack!  Recommended for ages 3 to 8 and pre-registration is required.  Go to wsmuseum.ca for more info!
