Newmarket's Catholic High School Scores Regional Arts Program

In a unanimous decision, the 10-trustee York Catholic board voted to support McNicol’s motion that would see the board’s only Catholic high school in Newmarket develop a four-year specialized regional arts program to advance students’ talents and abilities in that area. Read More

ABO Welcomes Patricia McKinna as Executive Director

ArtsBuild Ontario is pleased to announce the appointment of performing arts professional Patricia McKinna as Executive Director. Patricia will be responsible for strategic leadership, human and financial resources, program support and relationship building and management. As manager, producer and consultant she brings considerable experience with both new and heritage performance spaces including Koerner Hall, Mazzoleni Hall and Temerty Theatre at The Royal Conservatory of Music's TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning (as founding GM of RCM Performing Arts). She holds undergraduate degrees from Mount Allison University, a graduate degree from UOttawa, a diploma from The Royal Conservatory of Music, and certificates from Mount Allison, La Sorbonne. Mass Culture Gatherings

Mass Culture has received funding to develop and support a series of gatherings across Canada. These gatherings are supported by the generosity of the Toronto Arts Council through their Open Door program. Eleven conversations are currently in planning across the country, gathering artists, cultural workers, policy-makers, academics… to consider the gaps and needs in Canadian research and policy on topics ranging from cities as creative hubs, affordable housing for artists and professional development to well-being and creativity, social ROI and the impact of community arts.  Read More
