Veronica is a multi-disciplinary, community based artist. She creates opportunities for organic art happenings to occur connecting people together. Outside her art practice Veronica can be found sweating it out on the mats at the Bravado BJJ Academy in Woodbridge or signing up for her next cycling tour.
Throughout the program, the five Arts Ambassadors will develop their professional practice and receive mentoring on a range of topics related to community arts while connecting with a broad network of arts leaders from across their regions and province. As Arts Ambassadors, they will share their learnings with peers and the wider community and wrap-up the first year of the program by attending the 2017 National Culture Days Congress.
Being part of the Artrepreneur program and the YAAP collective is a step forward in further developing my own arts initiative with I.AM (Intergenerational Arts Movement). I.AM is a community of artists creating art happenings and celebrations concentrated in Vaughan. We aim to highlight the importance of collaborative art making and happenings outside the Toronto core. Producing art and art happenings in my hometown of Vaughan gives me strength and hope for a stronger arts community within the area. Art accessibility for all! - Veronica Abrenica
